Simply amazing.

Brian Baker, whose incredible story is fast sweeping the tennis world, has triumphed over Nikolay Davydenko 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the finals at the Open de Nice – an ATP 250 Tour event.

Both players struggled to hold serve throughout the match, as each displayed fantastic return games. Baker was the more aggressive player for most of the match, while Davydenko seemed content to play more consistently, apparently hoping that Baker wouldn’t be able to maintain his high level of play for the entire match.

But in the deciding third set, Baker buckled down and gutted out some difficult hold games to capture the win.

Baker will now face Nicolas Almagro in the finals on Saturday. According to tennischannel.com, the match will be showed via tape delay at 5:30 p.m. EST. Win or lose tomorrow, this has certainly proven a great warm-up for Baker leading up to the French Open.

Go Brian!!!
