I wrote about Babolat’s new racquet technology back in April, and the video below is evidence that the company really is making its push now at the French Open.
Regrettably, the video isn’t very informative, and other than Li Na the players look less than impressed.
Still, I’m interested to learn more about this racquet and the type of information that can be gleaned from hitting with it. It will also be interesting to hear how the racquet itself plays. Presumably, the inserted electronics should be exceedingly light and so won’t likely affect the playability of the racquet. But unless the racquet compares favorably on the court, no amount of technological insight will convince people to switch.
